 School Progress Award Ceremony
Keystone Academy Charter School (KACS) was recognized at the School Progress Report (SPR) Award ceremony which was held today at Potter Thomas School.  The ceremony celebrated schools that model high performance and progress.  The award was presented by Dr. Hite, Mayor Kenny and members of the SRC. KACS received the Peer Leader-Leading the Way Award which reflects the school’s diligent work to provide a high-quality education to students of Philadelphia.
The School Progress Report (SPR) is a tool that is used by the School
District of Philadelphia to measure and compare both district and                                                                   charter schools.  It is based upon the belief that all students deserve to                                                           attend a school that is dedicated to high achievement. The SPR score                                                             identifies schools that are meeting the standard, while also showcasing                                                         growth and celebrating successes.  KACS meets and exceeds the                                                                     standard! All of us have worked to secure this award, including, teachers,                                                       administration, staff, parents, Board of Trustees and, most importantly,                                                         our students. Together we will continue to make a difference in the lives                                                       of our students by striving for educational excellence.  Congratulations                                                            to the KACS community!

Celebrating National School Choice Week - January 21-27, 2018
Keystone Academy Charter School students, families, and staff are celebrating National School Choice Week. National School Choice Week is celebrated each January across the country and is a resource to students and families to understand the educational options available to them. School choice means giving students and their family access to the best K-12 education options for their children. This includes traditional public or charter schools, magnet schools, private
schools, online academies, and homeschooling.

Keystone Academy Charter School students received stickers and scarves
to highlight their support for school choice and their choice of Keystone
Academy Charter School. We are thankful that our students and families
have the choice in their schooling.

Keystone Academy Charter School Student Honored by Philadelphia Tradition
Philadelphia, PA (January 22, 2018) – A Keystone Academy Charter School student recently won top the prize at this year’s Fancy Brigade at the Mummer’s New Year’s Day parade and pageant.

Eighth-grade student Justin Anderson and his Mummers-affiliated group, Golden Crown, placed first in this year’s Fancy Brigade. The Golden Crown has been orchestrating indoor thematic presentations and scenes since 1958.
